-About This Project-
Meet Adam
Hello! It means a lot to me that you've taken a moment to explore together. I am in Western Massachusetts (USA), but wherever you might be, here is a place we can learn, stretch, and grow. I am just a regular guy that enjoys spending as much time outdoors as possible, whether hiking, camping, gardening, or kayaking. I have a career, hobbies, friends, and family. I am also a paranormal investigator. Though I am generally curious and like learning about all types of subjects, I would have to say my two favorite topics are history and spirituality (all kinds of traditions). I like to laugh and help others to find a smile. If I can leave a legacy, it would be this - "He was an honest, hard-working, reliable, and genuine friend, true to his path and respectful of others."
What brought me to this work?
I am someone that has walked the end of life path and sat vigil at the bedside of several people as they took their final breaths, and parted this life. I am someone that has supported friends and family alike, as they have worked through the experience of losing a family member, friend, or pet. I am someone that studies profusely, trains, contemplates, and practices an effort to help others (those dying, planning ahead, and their loved ones) to make an effort to experience their best death. I have seen and felt the continuing sting of grief, the frustrations of our cultural obsession with pretending death won’t happen (in the medical, corporate, and private worlds), and had to navigate the process, often without the benefit of any forethought or guiding words from the dying, as to their wishes. I am someone that does not see the benefit in ignoring the reality of death and dying, and I know the brutal, painful, stressful, and complicated path that lies ahead for me and others, when we fail to honor the simple idea of “Memento Mori” – Latin for “Remember you must die”.
I finally tired of saying and hearing, "There must be a better way!" There is a better way, and though it is still a taboo subject in much of Western culture, I have been called to step out and claim a role in helping the curious and the willing to find that way.
Ways we can walk together
Presentations
I like speaking to groups because this allows for participants to explore, but with the support and presence of others. Whether discussing the role of a Deathwalker/Doula, Becoming an Ancestor, Death Journaling, or a variety of other topics, I am glad to guide the journey.
Person-to-Person
Some work is best done in a safe and confidential setting, whether in-person, over the phone, via email, or whatever. I consider it an honor to be entrusted with your thoughts, questions, concerns, and ideas.
Here Online
My plan for this website is to create a safe container for you to walk your path and explore your relationship with some pretty important subjects: life, death, and beyond. I will be constantly building this library of content and resources, to help your work.
